Stair Parts' architecturally correct product lines create a staircase that becomes a home's hallmark - a visual statement of a home's style, character and value." Stair Parts, which was founded in 1978 in Gross Isle, Michigan, entered the industry with two handrail profiles and three baluster designs. In 1984, the firm moved to Roswell, GA, and four years later was acquired by Citation, an Alabama-based holding company. The company's move to headquarter offices in Marietta, GA, saw further expansion, including applications for new patents. In 1996, the firm was purchased by United Industrial Syndicate (USI Inc.), a privately held New York-based company made up of manufacturers and distributors of industrial and consumer products. With this acquisition, Stair Parts was able to further enhance its product lines and production capacity.

Rapid growth throughout the 1990s resulted in the purchase of a 125,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Adairsville, GA. In 1997, the company's production base moved to this north Georgia community, while the administrative offices remained in Marietta.

Most recently, Stair Parts, Inc. was acquired by Monarch Holdings, Inc., a privately held, Iowa-based conglomerate of building products manufacturers focused on residential and commercial applications.
